Broadcasting

This can be both a class and an extracurricular activity for anyone in 10-12 grade. The school wide newscast of the announcements "The Redwing Daily" is a key piece of the hands-on approach used in the class. Students can be involved in broadcasting without enrolling in the class. There are many production opportunities at South and throughout the district requiring student volunteers in various production rolls - camera operators, audio mixers, director, editors and announcers, to name a few. Broadcasting is very much a team activity and those involved have a lot of fun working together. Many of the finished programs are shown on the district's television channel, SASD-TV.
