Mission

The Sheboygan South High School Art Department believes that art inspires students to be creative and express their thoughts and feelings through visual creation. For many students, art provides a crucial area for success and self-expression that might otherwise be absent from their education. The Art department uses a Discipline-Based Art Education philosophy, focusing on art aesthetics, criticism, history, and production. This instructional approach helps students understand the value of art and the various processes and techniques involved in creating it.
