Cell Phone Policy
Cell Phones and Smart Watches
The possession and use of cell phones are not permitted in instructional environments or during instructional activities, including those that take place off campus. Students are required to check in their cell phones at the beginning of each class period and may retrieve them from the designated cell phone caddy at the end of class. Phones must be powered off or placed in Airplane Mode before storage.
Students who wear smart watches are expected to place their devices in Airplane Mode during instructional time.
Personal electronic devices may be used before/after school, during passing periods, Lunch in the commons, and Privileged Study Hall (Guided and Commons).
Students are not permitted to use cell phones to play or stream music during class. When music is permitted by a teacher for academic or independent work time, students must use their school-issued Chromebook.
Tablets and Laptops
Personal tablets and laptops may not be used as substitutes for a school-issued Chromebook. These devices will be treated as personal electronic devices and are subject to all expectations and consequences outlined in this policy.
Wireless Headphones and Audio Equipment
Students who bring personal audio equipment to school assume full responsibility for its use and safekeeping. During passing periods, students may use only one earbud or headphone as a safety measure.
Failure to comply with these expectations will result in confiscation of the equipment, and students will be subject to the same consequences as unauthorized cell phone use.
Pagers and two-way communication devices are not permitted on school premises during the academic day unless specifically authorized by building administration.

Confiscation of the personal electronic device by a teacher or administrator. The device will be held in the Main Office and may be retrieved by the student at the end of the school day.

This may include out-of-school suspension and referral to the Sheboygan Police Department for interference with peaceful activity on public grounds.
